Accessibility Features

Accessible bedroom

At Treworgans, we’ve thoughtfully designed the accessible bedroom at Buzzard Watch to offer both comfort and convenience. Choose between twin beds or a luxurious super-king, and enjoy a spacious ensuite wet room that’s fully wheelchair accessible.

We provide ceiling and portable hoists, a profiling electric bed, and a selection of shower chairs to ensure every guest feels completely supported. Every detail has been carefully planned to make your stay at Treworgans as relaxing, comfortable, and accessible as possible.

French doors open straight onto the patio, filling the room with natural light and beautiful countryside views.

Buzzard Watch wetroom

We’ve designed the ensuite wet room at Buzzard Watch to provide comfort, safety, and independence. The step-free, wheel-in shower area features non-slip flooring for extra confidence, while fixed grab rails around the WC and basin, along with a drop-down support arm beside the toilet, ensure easy access for all guests.

The wash basin has clear space beneath it, allowing wheelchair users to roll up comfortably and use it with ease. Every detail of the wet room reflects our commitment to inclusive design, helping guests enjoy a relaxing and accessible stay.

Relaxing at Buzzard Watch

The sitting room at Buzzard Watch is the perfect place to unwind. Its vaulted ceiling, exposed timber beams, and cosy wood-burner create a warm, rustic charm, while modern touches like a Smart TV let you enjoy your favourite Netflix film or catch up on a missed programme.

An electric riser recliner chair and comfortable sofa face the French doors, which open onto the patio and fill the room with natural light. On arrival, you’ll be greeted with a generous welcome hamper featuring local Cornish produce, fresh flowers, and a traditional cream tea — a thoughtful touch that sets the tone for a truly relaxing stay.

Frequently Asked Questions

Question:

What hoisting options do you provide?

Answer:

We offer several hoisting options to suit different needs.

Each cottage includes either a ceiling track hoist in the bedroom, allowing easy transfer from the bed to a wheelchair or shower chair, or a BHM Junior portable hoist. Both use sling attachments compatible with Oxford hoists.

If you’d like access to both hoist types during your stay, that’s no problem — we can provide both in your cottage on request.

An Invacare Stand Assist (Stand Aid) is also available and like the portable hoist can be used anywhere within the cottage.

Question:

I need a profiling bed can this be supplied?

Answer:

Each cottage includes a profiling bed designed to make your stay as comfortable as possible. You can easily adjust the bed to suit your preferred position, and it can be fitted with either an air or pressure mattress. The beds also offer Trendelenburg positioning for added flexibility and support.

Question:

Do you allow dogs?

Answer:

Yes, we allow dogs, but there’s a £25 charge for each. As we’re on a sheep farm, dogs must stay under control at all times. Owners must clean up after them, and dogs shouldn’t be left alone in the cottages unless they’re in a dog cage.

What Our Guests Say

Just returned from a week in Valley View cottage, as previously mentioned it is so good to find disabled accommodation so well equipped takes all the hassle out of trying to hire or take your own equipment with you. The location is very central with easy access to all the major attractions and if like us your into your garden then Heligan and the Eden Project and many more beautiful gardens and the coast are just a short journey away.

Wonderful Holiday

Treworgans Farm caters for the disabled with 2 self-catering properties. We stayed in the smaller one, Buzzard Watch, and it absolutely could not be faulted. My wife cannot stand or walk and has to be hoisted from wheelchair to bed, shower chair etc. Very, very few of the so-called disabled holiday destinations provide this kind of support so we usually have to take hoists, shower chairs etc with us which is a major inconvenience and annoyance. It was such a pleasure to discover Treworgans Farm which provides all this and more.

Happy Guest

We had been let down badly by cottages.com and had less than two weeks to find accommodation, fortunately we stumbled across Treworgans.I called David to enquire and immediately new this was the place to book. Easy to book on their online site. We arrived on a lovely day, a nice welcome pack on arrival with a cake baked by David’s wife (delicious). First of all the cottage is on a wonderful farm and is really private. Open plan living room, kitchen, diner with patio doors out to decking. Two double bedrooms that have en-suite, main bedroom has patio doors to decking.. Sandwiched between two small villages with pubs and shops it is ideal to explore Cornwall, you are at most 20 minutes from a beach and 15 minutes from Truro... I would and have recommended this place to family and friends and to all who read this review..

Book if you can , you will not be disappointed.
