Frequently Asked Questions

Our accessible accommodation

We have been providing accessible holiday accommodation since 2003 so we have a good understanding of people’s needs. Please don’t be afraid to ask a question about anything as you probably won’t be the first person to have asked it before – our ultimate aim is to make your stay as easy and comfortable as possible.

If you have any other questions please feel free to contact us by phone or email.

Do you have electric riser recliner chairs?

Yes, we have one in each of the cottages.

Do you provide care?

We don’t provide care ourselves, but we can suggest local care agencies that will come in and provide care during your stay as necessary.

What type of hoists do you have?

We have several hoisting options.

Either

a ceiling track hoist in the bedroom that easily allows transfer from the bed to a wheel/shower chair,

or

a BHM Junior portable hoist,

with both options the sling attachments are the same as Oxford hoists. If you would like to have both options during your stay, that is no problem. We have both available in each of the cottages.

or

for those people who require a standing hoist, we have recently added an Invacare ISA Stand Aid to our equipment portfolio.

Do you have pressure mattresses?

We have conventional foam pressure mattresses that also can also be upgraded to a dynamic air pressure mattresses if necessary.

How much do you charge for using the mobility equipment?

We don’t charge for any of our equipment – if we have something that will make your holiday easier or more comfortable please ask to have it in the cottage. If we don’t have something that you need please ask as we will probably know where you can hire it from locally.

Are there any pubs or shops close by?

In Probus (a mile away) there is a Spar shop and a Londis with a petrol station, a fish and chip shop, Chinese takeaway, Indian restaurant and takeaway, a pub and a Farm Shop. In Ladock there is a pub/resturant. Truro has several supermarkets and is only 15 minutes away.

Can I get a supermarket home delivery to the cottages?

Waitrose, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda, Iceland and Morrisons will do home deliveries to the cottages. Please ensure that your delivery slot is timed for after your arrival so that you are here to receive it.

Do you allow dogs?

Yes we allow dogs but there is a £25 charge for each dog. We are a on sheep farm so dogs need to be kept under control at all times. They obviously must be cleaned up after and they can’t be left alone in the cottages unless in a dog cage.

Is there WiFi in the cottages?

Yes, both cottages have free Super Fast broadband available.

Do we have to be disabled to stay at Treworgans?

No everyone is welcome!

Are towels and bed linen supplied?

Yes. All bed linen and towels are provided (except beach towels). There is also a washer/dryer in each of the cottages.

Do you have EV charging onsite?

Unfortunately, at the moment we do not have EV charging points and are unable to allow “Granny charging” of cars via extension leads from the cottages. Electric scooters and power chairs can of course be charged.
